Information system for translation agency

Presented thesis deals with design and implementation of an information system for a local translation agency. The main purpose of the information system is to provide functions for effective user/project management. Key part of system is represented by a multi-level processing of terminology queries from external translators. Further features include distribution of documents to users, resource planning, and work evaluation. In order to provide instant 24/7 access, the system has been implemented as a WWW application using PHP script language, MySQL database, and AJAX technology.

The present bachelor's thesis deals with a proposal for the implementation of a data-related and functional model of a computerised system for the use of Mgr. Martina Vaskova's translation agency A-tradi, its principal object, especially with the aid of these models, being that of defining and recording all the requirements imposed on the future agency information system that will lead to simplifying, automating and rendering readily overviewable the internal systems and administration of the said undertaking using computer technologies.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the information system of translation agency NK Translators s.r.o. Furthermore, changes and functionality extensions should be proposed in order to improve the existing system and subsequently these proposals should be implemented and embedded into the system of the company. The agency uses this information system for the registration of customers and freelance translators and mainly for the project management (the term project means a translation job, a proofreading or an interpretation). Up until now, the agency has been operating with the first version of this system that has been in use for three years. Currently, the emphasis is put on both user-friendly interface and process automatisation so the expansion of the information system represents a significant potential for an effective way of running business. The system is programmed as a web application and mainly uses technologies such as PHP, HTML and JavaScript.

The bachelor's thesis ,,Business Strategy of the Jipka - Moje jazykovka Translation Agency" deals with the strategic planning process within a SMB in the field of translation agencies. Its goal is to create a complex business plan, that will ensure future growth of the company. Based on a literature research, it first describes the theoretical practice of preparing a business plan, from goal-setting, through situation analysis, to an actual creation of the plan. It introduces the analytical tools and models, their outcomes, the process of choosing the right option, followed by its implementation and evaluation. The practial part focuses on application of these theoretical principles, to a specific example of Jipka - Moje jazykovka translation agency, formulation of its goals, and proposing the steps leading to their fulfillment.

Žuchová, S. Strategic management of translation and interpretation agency. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2017. Thesis deals with strategic management of translation and interpretation agency. The main objective of this thesis is to identify the competitive position of the company, which makes possible to design appropriate business strategy. PESTE analysis and Porter´s five forces analysis are used to analyse the external environment. Analysis of the internal environment is done by using the 7Ps marketing mix and financial analysis. The financial indicators are compared with major competitors. Results of analyses are used for formulating strategies using the SPACE matrix and the SWOT matrix. At the end of the thesis the strategy of utilization of subsidies for company development is chosen together with recommendations for its implementation.
